92 camry died!
Hello everyone! I'm new here, but there seems to lots of good advice flying around and I'd like to ask a few questions. My 2.2 i4 died a horrible death (awful rod knock). It'll still runs, but I need to get it back in drivable condition. I found a cheap low milage 3s-fe with a good tranny (it was also misbehaving in the 92) I'd like to put this in the car, but I've seen a couple of posts that say this would be a bad idea. I'm aware that it's .2 liter smaller, but it's cheap and in REALLY good shape. I can get it virtually for free, where as i've not been able to find a decent 5s-fe for less than $800. Any way I'd appreciate your opinions on the matter. I'd consider rebuilding the 5s-fe, but then can I use the tranny from the 3s-fe with it?
Thanks
jerry
