Car hesitating while driving

My daughter bought a 1993 camry about a month ago. Recently the service engine light came on and a bad o2 sensor was diagnosed. We replaced it and the light went out. However, the car seems to be hesitating while driving. I'm thinking (hoping) that this is most likely just because the car is old and hadn't been driven much before she got it. Would replacing the spark plugs, putting fuel injector cleaner into the tank, and other "routine" things likely clear up the problem? A friend of mine said that they just paid $800 to relace a sensor on a vehicle that was doing the same type thing. My daughter just had to pay $800+ on the struts, mounts, tires, and alignment for the front of the car and she really can't afford another big repair bill. Any suggestions on what could be wrong and what we should do to fix it? Thanks

I4 or V6?

Any idea on the maintmence history on the car from the previous owner?

When does the hesitation happen? Accelerating, crusing, uphill?

If you mean routine things like oil changes and what not, yeah, you better do that

its a v6 and I'm not sure about the history of the car. The previous owner did have some work done and he had receipts, but I think the car came to him needing repair. He did some, but didn't do everything it needed. I really don't think he had driven the car for months before we bought it. I haven't ridden in the car since this problem has started, but from what I can get from my daughter, it is hesitating while she's cruising. She has mentioned it stuttering some when accelerating but that was before we replaced the o2 sensor, so i'm not sure if she's still having that problem.

Honestly, I'd say do a bunch of regular maintmence.
Distributor cap/rotor, wires, spark plugs, fuel filter. As well as start off using SeaFoam through the brake booster line.
I'd also clean the AFM (Air Flow Meter, located right after the air filter) with an Electronic's cleaner from any auto store near you.

Also, is there any unusual sounds from the engine?
