I gots my rims, but I needs me tires

Picked up my rims today. They're Motegi Racing MR7's 7" +40 offset. Now I am looking at tires. [oh yes, ANOTHER tire question. Just what everyone needs ]

Now, I'm looking at two sizes. I've a gen3 v6 LE and as far as I know stock springs and struts for now. [I may when they need to be replaced drop it an inch, or there abouts] Now with that in mind, I'm looking at either a 215.R50.17, or the other option 225.R45.17
Now, what I'm curious is, since I really know very little about car tires, is how will these be different when driving, [excluding the obvious] How will each handle? will there be rubbing issues? or turning issues, more so with the 225's? Does one noticeable drive better or worse than the other when pretaining to size? Just would like some input before I make a decision what to get.
TIA

both will perform about the same. the 225s will have a little more surface and a little more grip but hang over the rim just a tad. that is what i have on my car.

I'm parcel to the the 215/50...less width, more height on the sidewalls...but really, u can't go wrong with either choice! Congrats on getting the New Rims..be sure to post pics when u get em on.

Thanks for the input, and will do! Just trying to see what kinda of deal I can get on tires. These kinda of tires are all new to me. I'm used to looking at 33" MTR's.
The biggest concern I have with the tires I have now, which I hate is in wet weather they're totally crap. Takes next to nothing to lock up the brakes and slide. Doesn't give that happy feeling, ya know?

I rather go with the 215/50 more comfort and if u really care for the 225 just get 225/50 speedometer difference is not like something big to care about... when u hit 60mph it really is 61.0 mph oh nooo lol...

Not too bad. Just as long as it'll fit without issues [ie. turning lock to lock etc]
As for comfy? hell, all of it's comfy compared to what I was driving. Don't call it the 'luxury sedan' for nothing!
