3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey guys. I have an '00 White camry and have been wanting to "trick it out" you might say. But, I'm not really sure exactly what to do to it. I was gonna put a body kit on it, Paint it black and red.. Then possibly do something to the interior. The only problem right now is the back right corner of my rear bumper is torn off, and the top left corner of my front bumper is scratched and the light is broken (the actualy bulb still works). I'm also not entirely sure how to go about doing this. But i'de love to make it look sweet as hell.. Right now it looks like poop.
well theres plenty to do. just search around here for what ud like to see on the car and come back with more specific questions. its hard to anwser a "i want to mod my car" question.
Some pics would give us better overview and better advice for u...
agreed. i'm modding mine really soon. my intake is coming in tomorrow. but we could give better ideas if we knew exactly what you had to work with. and also ditto to big bird.
Why does no one do any research and at least have an idea what kind of mods they want advice on. Unless you plan to send one of us some money to build your car up to our tastes, you should at least post some things you like so we have an idea what we can recommend that will be to your tastes.
The best bang for your buck mod for the camry is...selling it and buying a more mod friendly car.

For starters i totally agree with the post above, however,
IMO, I wouldnt jump to throwing a kit on it. They can look very tasteless and be a huge pain in the butt. A nice set of wheels a bit of a drop, some tint (not sure if your windows are currently tinted), maybe a lip if you want then maybe even throw a lil cf into her like a hood or something. What exhaust are u currently running? Maybe put some thought into that as well. But honestly a good clean car is a lot nice than something covered in fiberglass and plastic.
Just my 0.02 good luck on whatever you decide to do

I agree, i jumped at it too... i want this i want that. but i stuck with Clean and Simple look, rims, tints, heads, corners, bumpers ( i have 92), the little things, but it makes the car look so much better and not as dumb as a snow plow (in some cases). Even the bulbs you use make it stand out at night. Im lowering soon. and custom fitting a lip.

if you want a mod thats realitively cheep and looks bad as fuck, do a bmw angel eye mod.
All you need is 2 window blind rods, 8 leds, some 18 guage wire, 2 types of heat shrink tubing, resistors , reflective tape and alum. foil.
Plus your SUPER LUCKY, since you have a gen 4.5, your rear end already looks nice and you have clear front headlights. Clear fronts really let the angel eyes shine.

Thats the mod that i did while off from school...Really changes the impression during evening drives.
Mines a 1998, so head lamps are not clear, but still looks great...hehe
My advice would be to make a body kit the last thing on your list. It's best to start with subtle upgrades, the most sensible order, in my opinion being: intake, suspension, new wheels, exhaust, and then body kit (keeping it as subtle as possible; we woudln't want anyone going down the honda civic route, now would we?)

if you want to make your camry look really nice, just get a good set of wheels, drop it, get a trd lip kit and paint it to match, and polish the hell out of your paint. then just keep it clean. you'll be suprised how good a car can look when its polished and kept clean.
