3rd Generation General Opinion - Tire Size and Ride Quality

Okay, I'm about to get some new tires, I currently have 215/45/17's on the Camry now, and unfortunately I do not care much for the ride quality. I've put new(er) struts on, and I've switched my springs around some, and that improved it greatly. I've seen a couple of other members here riding on 225/45/17's or 215/50/17's on their cars, and was wondering if anyone else could put in their input.
I'm leaning more towards the 215/50 because of the increased sidewall height, hoping that'll reduce some of the harshness I'm experiencing. Also, if anyone could recommend a good set of tires I'd really appreciate it. I'm not really looking for performance as much as I am ride quality at this point, if that helps to explain what I'm looking for. Thanks!

the 215/50 and the 225/45 ride about the same since the tire walls about the same size

but what is more important is actually the tire that you choose. there are some tires that have hard side-walls and some that have soft side-walls

ironically enough, the good tires have hard side-walls, and the even better tires have soft side-walls (i.e. eagle f1s, T1-Rs, azenis, etc.)

so when you#re looking for new tires, ask the tire shop or read the reviews online. most people like hard side-walls for performance since it's easy to feel (and harsher ride overall), but the really good tires have soft side-walls (and softer ride overall) because then the tire can flex and use its side-walls for extra grip when pushed on the track

so make sure you do your research!

Anything under a 60-series profile is going to ride hard. Get used to it or go back to stock size.
