They are 18" x 8" with I believe 50 offset. Would they fit properly? planning on buying them this weekend if they would fit...

They'll fit but you'll need 3-5mm spacers.

I am still trying to understand this. You say 3-5mm spacers, is this because the rim is 8 wide???

What if I got 17x7 rims ET45. Would I still need a spacer?

You MAY need 3-5mm spacers in the rear, not 100% sure. It will also depend ont he tire though.

What offset? and 55 is way too tall for a 17" rim. You'll want a 215/45/17 or 215/50/17 I think it was if you need to match the stock aluminums.

The spacers are not so much for the width but more for the offset.

I think both figures have to be considered. In this situation it is mainly because of the extra offset. Offset being how far away from the bolt face of the rim is from the middle of the rim.

I hope it makes sense. Zero offset means the bolt face of the rim is in the centre( that should 4in on a 8 J rim). 20 offset mean the bolt is 20 towards the outside of the car pushing the rim towards the strut...
