3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Here's my dilemma, I seem to be stuck in wanting a Camry coupe. I have owned many Toyotas before. Right now I have a 00 Celica GTS, she serves here purpose well, bu I want something different. I was stuck between getting a AE92 sedan, EG Hatch, or a Camry coupe.. The Corolla is will most likely be beaten up due to its age and the EG would be played out like Halo 3. So the choice was the coupe. I fell inlove with it even more since I saw SpeedSources coupe.. also my first car was a 93 LE with an above average 5SFE =D
So my search is to find a coupe. I have tried searching here but everytime I "search" i get 3808420 threads with "camry" in it.
Im guessing that they first came out when the 3rd gen came out? 92. and the last production was in 96?
Can anyone fill me with knowledge about this "rare" camry.
The camry coupe debuted in 1994. Im not sure about production numbers, and i didn't know they were "rare" until after i got one. I'm guessing a 94 camry coupe, the one i have, would be the rarest of the coupes because it was the only coupe of the early body style produced.
1994 Toyota Camry/Solara: Toyota makes big news for '94 by adding a new 2-door coupe body style, a standard passenger-side airbag, and a more muscular V6 engine. Except for a slightly lower height and different roof, the coupe's notchback styling is the same as the sedan's. Model choices for the coupe include DX, midlevel LE, and sporty SE. It also features the same 130-horsepower 2.2-liter standard on the entire Camry line. New 1994 Camrys equipped with a V6 now come with a new aluminum block 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 188 horsepower.
uh, the Solara was no where to be found in 94 ... the Toyota Camry came in 2dr for Gen 3 only, and then the Camry Solara came out in 99 to parallel the Gen 4 Camry sedan

production numbers? there's maybe 10 or so of us online
but seriously, i see a couple here and there fairly often, so for some reason i want to say it's more than just 2% as adam mentioned.
btw, mine's the rarest.... gen3 front with the 3.5 rear Best of both worlds =P
