3rd Generation Door Lock Control - died?

Hi,

well this night it happened
It looks like my central locking is not working anymore...
When I push the button on drivers door to lock all the doors I hear bzzzzz (coming from glove compartment), and nothing locks...
I tried opposite with locked doors, and then again same noise (like something is turning blank - bzzzzz) and nothing unlocks....

Remote as well, doesn't lock or unlock...
Alarm still works, cause when I lock my car manually from out side, I hear alarm arming OK, and security light goes on...

I looked at some manuall and it looks to me like Door Lock Control Relay is malfuncioned...

As I also saw in that manual it's situated under the glove compartment.

Has anybody changed this?
Can I just get the glove compartment out in order to reach it?
...or any other advice would be gratley appriciated

Thanks guys

Glove box is very easy to remove.

Can you unlock/lock the doors from the passenger side?

When I try to unlock from passenger side, only passenger door unlocks, all the other doors stay locked...
Also when I try to lock/unlock with remote, it doesn't lock or unlock....it only activates/deactivates alarm (but it used to lock/unlock doors as well)....

Might the door lock relay, passengers side kick panel.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and chassis inside the sleeve. Often the wires become damaged due to the constant usage.

Ok, problem fixed and here is the explanation with some pics...

It look's like toyota wants us to go to agents for this since it was quite a simple, but tuff problem...
Here is why

P.S. BEWARE, THIS IS A RHD CAR, SO ON NORMAL CARS (LHD) EVERYTHING SHOULD BE THE SAME, ONLY MIRROR SIDES (Left is right and so on....)...

Firs I've removed the glove box, and found the Door Lock Control unit on left (your right) side in the corner, in the blue box...

Here is the close up of the box, with the part numbers...

Here is how the unit inside the blue box looks like...
Note: One of those two big dices (some relays) was making a "bzzzzzzzz: sound....

Here is the connector for unit...

After a good hour of trying to figure out how did this unit died, I rememberd that I should also check the fuses...
In car manual you'll find the fuse box right next to the steering wheel, and I never knew that there are three more fuses under the whole mask...
You need to remove the whole cover in order to get to them...
Those fuses are:
1. 30Amp-32V Cental Locking/El.Windows
2. 40Amp-32V Rear windscreen heater
3. 40Amp-32V Ignition (not sure about this one...i think that's the one)...

And here is the close up of them...

Well, after that one replaced, everything started working 100%...
Stupid spot to place them, since it takes a little bit of time to replace the stupid fuse....

Lol, looking at the steering wheel on the right side of the car hurts my head. But glad you fixed the problem.

Twix,
I have the exact same problem listed here but mine includes dash background lighting, instrument panel lighting, and parking lights as well as the rear lights (which do not go on when I switch on the headlights). My car is also RHD like yours, made in SA in 1996.

I had already opened up the fuses you have found but I have not replaced them.

Best regards,
Patrick.

Are there fuses for just those items in the 1993 camry? LHD? anyone?
