Here is enough old-style air-conditioning refrigerant to keep you cool for the rest of the summer:
Glad to see you're concerned about the ozone layer.
Anyone considering this should look at the EnviroSafe web site and think about converting to that instead. Less cost, better cooling, R12 seal/oil compatable, ozone safe.

xtremeskier, I'm in the process of converting a 92 Mitsubishi. I've used R134a in other R12 vehicles and it's a lot of hassle, seals, oil, leaks, poor cooling. If EnviroSafe performs as advertised I'll be very happy. This vehicle has never needed A/C service til this year so I'm replacing all the seals and the compressor shaft seal (where the leak is). The seals are not necessary for the EnviroSafe but I wanted a tight seal that would last another 15 years, and since the system is already broken into I'm taking the time to do it right. Those thinking of doing this should have a shop reclaim the remaining R12 and not vent to atmosphere.

R134a in an R12 system is not a good fit. New systems made for 134 work ok but the R12 systems are not robust enough for the new stuff. As well the molecules in 134 are smaller than R12 so leak more and faster. My 95 Camry has 134 and is very cold, my 03 Ranger uses 134 but I'm not happy with the cool so if this conversion to EnviroSafe goes well then I'll convert the Ranger to it as well.

I've been using r406a from Autofrost for years and years on all my old stuff. It's cheap, blows ice cubes, and I haven't ever had a problem dropping it into systems without changing seals or oils.
