3rd Generation Another gosh darn tire question

I'm going to upgrade the suspension with h&r sport springs with tokico struts. I'm eventually going to buy a new set of wheels. I was going to go with 17" rims with 50 for the side wall. I say 'was' because today I saw a car riding on 17" rims but with 55 for the side wall. It looked real nice. So here comes the question, would getting a 17" rim with a 55 for the side wall cause rubbing issues? I'm pretty sure its going to cause the odometer to be off, but I can live with that, can't live with rubbing issues.

BTW the car is a 95 coupe if that makes any difference.

Well, I'm working on putting on my 17" rims. Options to keep it as close to spec. is using either 215.R50 or 225.R45 Now, if you're lowering it with the new springs, I'd think that rubbing may be an issue if you go to an R55. [not that I'm an expert by any means]
As well have you played with an online tire calculator? You should keep any oversizing within 3% of OEM. The above mentioned sizes keep it within that.
