JL Audio A6450 6-channel amp Vs MB Quart PAB-5400 5-Channel Amp

Hey sup ya'll, Im in tha process of buyin tha components for my system for my camry. I was given one 12" JLW6 in a trade and will be building a box speched to it. I've built quite a few of em that ive sold to people but never one for me, i think this W6 is the exception. I'm in the process of getting some MB Quart component speakers, n already have some matching 6X9's.

My question is about tha amp. JL Audio A6450 6-channel amp, It's 1320 watts, has an onboard crossover, ect. Some specs on it here:
http://www.abt.com/product/24925.html
ive never used a single amp to power up my entire system, i've alwayz done a seperate mono n 4 channel amp. In order to get tha best bang for my buck, do you think this 6 channel amp will do justice to specifically tha W6? or should i stick to my regular game plan and get a mono and seperate 4 channel?

I was also lookin at the MB Quart PAB-5400 5 Channel amp as well,
http://www.mbquart.com/en/produkte/c...hp?nr=pab_5400

I would go with either jl or mtx amps if tha 6 channel is no good, n no dont really plan on gettin a 500/1 mono jl amp neither, unless a good deal comes along n got tha cash for it. N NO i will not be entering my car into SPL/SQ contests, i like bass but not overkill like lotta kids do nowadays. I'm interested in SQ of tha ENTIRE system more than jus tha subs alone. My budget is bout $350-400 bux for both (seperate mono n 4 channel)

that six channel amp is classified A-class. from my experience A-class is strictly highs and only highs. i dont really think your gonna use all 6 channels

the five channel amp is a/b classified. so its a lil mixed with highs and mids. i dont think itll be a good idea to use a subwoofer on a a/b amp.

what i suggest is getting 2 amps....always better then 5 or 6 channel amps...one 4chan for mids and highs and a mono for the sub.

You smokin' rock man? you can use A or A/B to power ANYTHING. The only limitations on amps is that the Class D type amps don't like higher frequencies, the same restriction doesn't appy in reverse.

When it comes to amps, get the one that has the features and looks you like, you'll likely not notice a sound difference. Most well designed amps have a minimal sonic footprint. Also, if you're gonna have a sub in the trunk, you better have some sort of enclosure separating the sub from the 6x9's. It'll bully them around and make funny noises like no other. I don't even run speakers in the rear deck because the strange reflected sound you're getting from them isn't that great anyway.

checkout www.diymobileaudio.com great crew on there that'll answer all of your questions and a few more

I would get 2 amps. Its a good safety feature as well. If one of your amps break, atleast your other amp wont be broken. Unlike with a 5 channel where once that amp breaks, your screwed for both ur speakers n sub.

As for amps I am biased and like rockford fosgate altho i have heard JL are good as well.

Its sad but today I blow out an old skool mtx 4000 12in sub and a few months ago i blew out a 10in mtx 6000 sub. I have the worst luck, its rediculous too, both times only 1 of my 2 subs broke.

So right now i am rolling on 2 mtx 5000 10in in a sealed box with a rockford punch 360.2 pushing 400-450 watts RMS. I'm planning on buying a rockford 1000 watt RMS amp and get 2 mtx 8500 12 in subs, once i get some cash.

If you look on craigslist you can find some killers deals. I got a rockford punch 450.4 for either 120 or 150. And on ebay i got 4 kfc-x172 for 100, which IMO are some of the best component speakers you can find which arent focal.

I like Zapco, the Alpine PDX stuff is good, ARC is godly. Old Soundstream is good but expensive, JL is alright but expensive for what you get. Stay away from Blaupunkt and those type brands. Fosgate is alright but definitely not in the same league as ARC or Zapco. I run a Fosgate Punch 150 25 to Life that pushes out over 900 W bridged and it sounds as good as anything but the build quality is definitely not the same as the nicer brands.
