1. What's your budget?
2. What's your power goals?
3. What kind of mechanical abilities do you have?
When I was going to turbo my 5sfe, this is how I answered those questions:
1)I'm cheap, so I want someone to give me all the parts I need...
2)My goal involves the car actually taking off into the air and flying me from one destination to the other, so I'm currently trying to find someone who'll give me the wing from an old Plymouth superbee (see #1)
3)I have the ability to take something apart and put it back together without all the pieces I started with, and still get it to run...

LOL nice start i guess XD. i didnt start this to get a HOW TO...or nothing like that, just plain and simple opinions suggestions or advice. ive searched and i still cant make up my mind. Those threads give great info and insight on both of these and are useful. but lol still cant decide.
1) I DO NOT want to sell this car. too much money invested would be a waste and i just love it , getting a new car next year anyway (IS300), still keeping this for winter.
2) Budget is... well... not an issue. ill get everything i need for cheap or free.
3) Power goals would be somewhere mid to high 200's (to the wheels impossible with 5s?)
4) Hmmm Mechanical abilities, ive worked as a mechanic for 2 years, before than worked in body shop doing both body and mechanic, before that i grew up helping my dad fix cars XD, my whole family are mechanics. so im pretty capable. (but the tuning i would need some help with).
also i dont think ill go 1mz turbo (if i do the swap) itll be more than turbo'n the 5S. i have some parts for the 5s already.
and im not talking slapping a turbo on the 5s, if im gonna go that way, forged rods, bearings, bigger forged pistons, rings, etc. ill rebuild the engine.
Just plain and simple guys. no flaming please.
LoL and the no labor part...wheres the fun in that?

mid 200s is possible, and even likely, with a properly setup 5S ... but you wont find any how-to's on ToyotaNation for that (unless you ask Rdizzle - but he rarely posts here anymore)
