Ravs Fully Built 92' 5SFE Camry.

Okay this is how its gonna go. As some of you know im building a 92' Camry. I'm making this a FULL build pretty much, ground up. This is the order of what im doing. And of course im going to make full Guides/DIY while doing most of this.

1- Suspension
2- Brakes
3- Engine / Intake / Exhaust
4- Turbo
5- Drive a fun as hell 92' Camry!!!!

Breakdown:

1- Suspension:

Basic - Its a 92 so its a really old car. My front end is shot, the bushings on control arm are gone im sure theres more. So i have the whole front end ready to install. Control arms, Tie rod ends, Sway Bar Links, Lower Ball joint etc.

Springs- I have EIBACH pro kit im installing, drops 1.2/front, 1.0/rear. Dropping her so shes going to take what i have in store for her. Waiting for struts.

Struts- KYB GR2, Sealed, Front and Rear. Waiting for shipment. I have servicibles so ill make a DIY on how to change them to sealed. Got the mounts stocked and waiting for struts.

Rear Sway Bar- TRD RSB

Front Strut Bar- This, as i have learnt is just a little extra stiffness. RSB comes First.

2 - Brakes

Front- Looking for brembo drilled rotors here and some high quality pads.

Rear- Drums to Disc convesion. Also looking for some brembo rotors. This will be a DIY guide.

Lines- I already have replaced most of my lines. This time it will be a full redo. Brakes and fuel while im at it. Deciding if to go regular lines (free) or SS braided (leaning for braided).

3 - Engine

Fully building my 5SFE, Getting newer gen.
- Complete gasket replacement
- Cometic metal head gasket
- Forged pistons, 87.5mm, 9.5-1 cr
- Billet connecting rods
- Performance rings and bearings
- High volume oil pump
- Port and Polish Head
- Bore cylinders for oversize
- ARP Studs
- New motor mounts
Intake
- Cold Air intake , Will custom make and write a DIY.
Exhaust
- Celica SS 4-1 Headers
- Full Custom 3" SS Exhaust,
- Hi-Flo Cat
- APEXi N1 Muffler, Thinking about Dual.(looks bad ass XD)

Since the full and complete turbo is going to take some time and a lot of money Ill be running this N/A until i get every part for the turbo build. Ill be tuning and running with an E-Manage.

4 - Turbo
3SGTE Manifold
T3/T4 Hybrid
Boost controller
2.5" SS Piping
FMIC
HKS SSQV Blow off
RX-7 Injectors
Walboro Fuel pump
3SGTE MAP
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy E-Manage blue w/ Ignition harness
Boost, EGT, Oil pressure guages

5 - Take pictures of jaws dropping.

I think that should be it, I know im forgetting stuff lol ill ad em in later.

Ill be writing and updating as i go along with the build.
Be sure to throw up your questions and/or Suggestions please.

AND as for anyone who intends to comment on this being a waste of time or money. Please get back to collecting your stamps. Im doing this because i love my car, i love working on cars, My hobby. SO if you could kindly PISS OFF!

Just buy a 3s-gte dude, it's not worth starting with a built engine. Get an engine with some power bone stock under the hood and build it from there. Hell with the 3s you can get around 350 horsepower on the stock bottom end no problem, just replace the head gasket and get some injectors and a tune.

BTW, there is no such thing as a JDM 5s-fe. that engine was only built for the American/Australian market

im not sure he really cares what you do, it is your money. hes just trying to give ya good advice and i do believe you asked for suggestions killer.

definatly go with the SS brake lines. they are a really good upgrade. id also invest at least in a V6 brake upgrade as well after that if ya find them you can go with the ericsol caliper mod as well which really helps with fading and high speed braking.

KYB GR-2s for a fully-built car? lame ... Whiteline when the TRD is stiffer? lame ...

what about valve work? i didnt see it mentioned (maybe i missed it) - valve job, titanium parts, etc. should be on the list

dont waste your money on drilled rotors - slotted if you want something that looks cooler than blanks, but brembo blanks are the way to go (supra rotors if you can get brackets made because they will fill the wheel space up much nicer than OEM size, but the V6 brakes at least if u cant get the ericsol brackets)

3" exhaust on an N/A build is gonna do you no good, but it will come in handy for the turbo so i guess the underbody piping might be worth it ... the header will also be useless once you get the turbo ... i wouldnt go with the Apex'i N1 unless its a stock 5S - they arent known for being the best for actually built cars

as far as the turbo stuff, you know how to find the info

and thanks bigbird. ill look into that.

alright venom i get it. lol thats why i asked for suggestions.
TRD RSB it is. and as for struts. what do you suggest? tokicos? the headers ill hand them down to a friend. the piping is mainly for the turbo. just gonna get it over with. and as for muffler...Greddy?

tokicos for sure or if you wanna really be fully built go coilovers

dont skimp for less performance orientated suspension when you are going for such a heavy build

for struts, i would either look into the Koni's or if you want something in familiar territory then Tokico's

for the muffler, you should probably look at what some of the higher-hp N/A MR2 and Celica guys are using ... however keep in mind that it wont sound like theirs

coilovers or nothing if youre really going for an all out build- struts/s springs arent going to cut it. Jaws arent going to drop at the 1" drop from eibachs, the car will look stock.

Same with the headers, dont bother if youre going to replace it with a turbo manifold later. Any plans for wheels and tires? interior modifications? If youre truly wanting to build something and call it "fully built," youre going to need extensive interior, exterior, and performance modifications.

I'll give you a cookie if you actually manage to do all the engine work you've listed there.

As previously mentioned, Don't get KYB struts and Eibach springs for a full build. Go Coilovers. Not only will springs etc not look very good due to the mild drop but the suspensions really won't be THAT much better and the handling will not be on par with the power.

i say if ya got a good deal on the suspension and its not on yet then sell that shit and use the money to do it right. i have to say if i put all that time and work into my engine and tranny id want the best control of the car that i could possibly get.
