I have a 98 with the 1mzfe. Will an 04 or so 1mzfe swap right in. If it has drive-by-wire, could I just run the stock 98 plenum and TB on top of the newer heads? Thanks

like he said...no. technically yes but ud spend so much money and time figuring it out, what on earth could the benifit be. cretainly not more then the trouble and money.

I thought it was possible if you use the head of a 97-00 head (without vvti)

even if they worked together...what would be the point. its the vvti that givs the engine its extra power. and how could anyone stand the DBW system on that motor.

What is DBW? I just need a good alternative for my POS 98 camry that I bought with a messed up engine. If there was something that swaps in pretty easily and cheaply, I would go for it. It definitely has to run with the stock ecu. Are there any other viable options? Thanks
