Farewell TN

As most of you know my 92 camry threw a rod and effectively died.

After about a month of looking for a new car I've finally got one and I absolutely love it!

For $5000(negotiated well) I have a 1997 Acura CL 3.0. 77kmi, and from the 400mi that I've driven it, it seems cherry. Amazing power, amazing luxury, I never would have thought I'd be driving a real Acura(not an integra).

So I say adieu. You guys have helped me a great deal and have had a great time with our discussions.

~Greg

I was curious as to whether you tried to repair the Camry or not. However, congrats on the new acquisition! By the sound of it you have been enjoying it thus far. Is it an auto or 5-speed? Hopefully it serves you well

perhaps that conveys how much I love this car. It's an auto, I decided not to buy anything stick since my bad back gives my clutch foot pain. I think the greatest thing about this car is it's the first car that I havent wanted to modify immediately.

The Camry was an excellent car, served me well, but I feel this Acura is just plain making me happy.

Looks nice and with low mileage... great deal!

What did you end up doing with the Camry? I was just wondering how much it was worth with a bad engine.

you know, I ended up selling it to a salvage yard. I had a lot of scuzzy people calling me....most offering me $200. One idiot thought he'd use it in a destruction derby.......that, I neither would condone doing to what essentially is a nice car or accept the fact that this guy actually thought it would run. So I took an easy and acceptable way out. Now, at least some other people can benefit from the car and hell someone might at the yard might swap the engine out and keep it.

They gave me $300, which sucks, but it's better than nothing. I removed my head unit, battery, fog lights and remote starter. Cleaned the interior up, put everything back together, marked parts that were basically new and even left the big manual in the trunk. I figured if it looked nice, people would be less likely to leave doors and shit open to get ruined. I really just needed the car gone, with little hassle, with my job and my up coming wedding, I just plain dont have time to part it out first and add on my local zoning laws regarding cars with no plates.

I did really luck out with this Acura, essentially it's my dream car. Yeah, there's a lot better cars that I want, but for me and my current situation, this IS a dream car.

I'm kinda ticked, I've been trying to join the Acurazine forums, but the site wont send me an activation e-mail.....weird.
