springs are springs ... the differences are going to be in the rates and the overall lengths, since the I.D. and O.D. are relatively identical

so the handling and ride quality wont be the same with the same set of springs between the 2 gens since they arent exactly the same size/weight, but most people wont notice a difference so in short: yes

now the rake could be a bit off, but im not sure which gen they set the ride heights up for

If you look up H&R Sports or Eibachs on Tirerack.com for Gen 3 vs. Gen 4, you get different part numbers.
