an old idea and more curiosity
I searched and read an old post about an attempt to do an ES300 headlight conversion on a 3rd or 3.5gen and after looking at the 1 3rd gen that i can find with it done *some dude on car domain* i was interested to know if the idea had grown any... obviously the easiest way to accomplish the task is the same as a honda person might do to convert their headlights.
I know the idea got slammed down and dogged due to monetary reasons but currently i figure if something is going to change the overall appearance of my car in 1 mod then it would be worth it *then there is "i have a one off show quality car" idea*
Reasonably speaking one would have to obtain 1 pair of headlights molding putty cardboard to make a mold of the shape to use for measuring, and something to cut the stock finder to fit the light in place, custom mounting would be needed but it would work...
over all estimate:
i bought a set of ES300 lights at a pull-a-part for $50usd when i did my retrofit, so we will say $50-200 for a pair of lights, $20-30 for a can of putty, and a basic dremill (or however you spell it) ... then there is the trial and error or complete perfection and knowledge of knowing how to do the work...
DIY's allways have alittle risk involved, so a secondary set of fenders wouldnt be bad, and ive seen them run $30 each on ebay :/...
ANYWAY back to the primary question, does anyone have pictures of any that have been completed (paint and all...)???
(no slamming the idea on this thread please, im not here to argue the point of logic vs nonlogical senseless money spending... the cam is evolving into a project car as i save money here and there for a good upgrade... im thinking is250 or is350, whichever has the AWD package)
