Hey guys, i already did a search but came up with nothing. I have a 2000 4 cylinder Camry. The two vents on the driver side blows out cold air fine, whereas the two vents on the passenger side blows out warm air. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Anyone had this sort of problem before? Thanks
Not sure. Need to get a diagram of your dash and parts to see where the potential issue could be and go from there.
Had an issue with my '92 right side vent flap. Had to take out the main bezel to get to it to fix it so it was fairly easy. Not sure where the flaps in the middle go exactly. I'm thinking that possibly one of the flaps in the middle might have either broken, or come off somehow causing the issue.
Other than a flap not working, I'm not sure of anything else that could cause the problem you're having. [not that I'm an expert by any means]. Just seems logical is all.
bump. anyone know any easy way to fix the problem? also, there seems to be a thumping sound every time the car goes over a bump. sort of like a rattling sound but clunk clunk ish. and the car feels like a boat. anyway to fix that?
OK, since that link didn't work, try doing a search for "center vent" you should get a page and a half of hits and I think 3 or 4 are similar to your situation.

Often, it's the loose screw between the steering wheel and the driver's seat that needs to be fixed first!
The thumping/rattling sound over bumps is most likely your front strut mounts. The bearings wear out over time leaving just enough free play to make noise. That's the typical problem. However, since a fair amount of time and money is involved (or even more money if you can't do it yourself), check the front anti-sway bar bushings to make sure they are intact and still doing their job. Not as likely to be the culprit, but if they are, then it's a much easier and cheaper fix.
AC does sound like a baffle problem (as long as you've made sure the vent is adjusted to internal AC air and not open to outside air). I had my first baffle problem at 20k miles and it's acting up again now at 200K (plus an annoying whistle on level 3 and 4 fan setting)
