USA Tires for 2000 Camry LE V6

Just bought it 2 weeks ago, was pulling to the left while driving and wheels squealing on turns. Thought the wheels might be be misaligned so I took it to my local Pep Boys and they told me that I need to replace all 4 tires due to them being the wrong size. Quoted $600 +Tax with installation which sounded like a lot to me. Do I have any other options here is that pretty much it? Incidentally, what kind of harm (if any) can I do to the car if I continue to drive on the current tires for say another month?

its kinda hard to help you, if you dont say what tires you currently have. Look on the sides of the tires, it will say xxx/xxrxx ex 205/65R15(this is also the right size for the camry v6)

yeah you're right, the previous owner decided to put 17" rims on it so the tire size is 225/45 17. I've actually called Pep Boys since posting to get more info and they said that they're Hankook Ventus V4 @ $105.99/Ea. I believe these are high performance tires. Turns out there's a rebate for 1 of the tires too so I guess it's not so bad. My main concern right now is whether or not I can drive on my current tires for 2 weeks to a month as I can't afford to replace them yet. Thanks.

Go back and LAUGH IN THE FACE of the "shop" that says your tires are too big just because somebody did a plus one or plus two upgrade. The 17s are not any larger overall than the OEM tires were. Who was at the counter... Jethro? PepBoys should know better... they even sell plus one, two, three combos there.

Buy a quality 17 and be happy. Your handling and ride will be improved. You'll be happy happy happy.

Go look at tirerack.com and read the reviews. They speak volumes. I just bought tire set number 8 from them.

My mistake, they didn't say they were the wrong size tires but that they're diffrerent types which I assume meant different brands.

My apologies to Jethro!

You can buy tires that size that are going to ride better than the Hankooks. Probably for not much different money. It's worth looking around,

Good luck man!
