low torque on 1992 LE

My 1992 camry LE seems to be overall more sluggish than my wifes 94 LE. Her car has over 200,000 miles on it, and my 92 has around 104,000 miles. Can anyone explain why the 92 would be more sluggish. Should I change the cap and rotor and plugs?? Would this help?? It idles fine, and seems to get ok MPG.

Thanks,
Adam

It can't hurt (changing plugs, wires, cap/rotor etc). Also check the timing, perhaps hers is slightly more advanced, and/or yours is slightly retarded.

Done a compression test lately? Why don't you compare compression on your car and your wife's. Once you know the basic ingredient of power is there you can start looking elsewhere.

thanks guys. I have not done a compression check on the engine. I don't know the mainenance history on my car, because I just purchased it, I am hoping it will last a long time. Even with low compression, will it still last a long time?? What are healthy numbers??

thanks,
Adam

BTW I will check timing too

I did the seafoam too.. It smoked pretty good. Didn't foul out the plugs, so that was nice. I will try the tune up.
