Question 98 Driver's Power window up is intermittant

Hello, I'm new here, but not new to automotive forums My mother has a 98 Camry with 180k miles or so on it. She tells me the driver's side power window sometimes does not close, but then it will start working again. I took apart the control panel and cleaned the switches with electrical contact cleaner. I've done this twice because the problem doesn't seem to go away.

Odd part is, after I've cleaned it, I tested it out and it's worked. But then she tells me after driving it, it would get stuck in the down position. But eventually will go up, little by little.

Before I go blindly replacing things, is there anything that tends to go bad in the power window electronics/mechanics of this car? I drive a 5th gen Corvette, and one of our common problems is a relay for our power door lock tends to get dirty. This causes the door not to lock sometime and the problem is not in the actuator but the relay. I'm wondering if her car is going through something similar.

Bad relay? Window motor gone bad?

Any help?

Check the wiring between the drivers door and chassis. Often become frayed due to door usage.

Thanks for the post totomoho. I have the same problem with my 1996 Camry. Has anyone had to fix this due to the wiring between the drivers door and chassis? If so, what's involved with this? Did you have to run a whole new wiring harness?
