3rd Generation Exhaust Noise on Gen 3

Hi guys,
Few months back i took my car to the mechanic to check (exhaust leaking somewhere underneat the car).
Anyway had it fixed but the noise is back on again, any ideas where i should be looking at ???
If i remembered it correctly he said somewhere between the engine and the exhaust...it only take them around 5 mins to fix, not sure if it's lose connection or something else...if sure anyone can post up some pixs where i could try to fix it myself ???

Derrick

Suggest you use a section of rubber hose as a stethoscope to run down the area. Then use your hand to check for leaks.

the best way to find out your problem...

You need yourself and another person to help you out..

Jack your car up with a good jack supporter...

1) if you have a hydrolic jack around the house... get a piece of short wood (flat), put short flat wood on top of the jack...and jack under the oil pan... WHEN YOU START TO JACK THE CAR UP, MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN PARK AND ENGINE IS OFF.

Make sure you have a short flat wood on top part of the jack to protect the oil pan.. jack it up until you have good clearance for you to get under the car...

for extra safety, get something block front tire both back tires before you start raising your car up.

if you have a jack that come with the car, put that hand jack on the side where your manual show the proper way to jack up your car...

this is only for extra safety when you're getting under your car...

now, have some stand outside the car and crack the car...use one foot to push the gas and you're under to listen the noise...MAKE SURE WHEN YOU'RE READY TO LISTEN THE NOISE...THE CAR IS IN PARK AND IT'S RUNNING..

tell the person don't sit on the car....2 jacks are safe, but I would be more caution not to add more person weight to the car...

You are going to have to find the leak, if under the car you will need to go under the car.

You can listen for the leak then use your hand to feel the exhaust coming out. Or if it is elusive, use the rubber hose as a stethoscope and run one end around the exhaust system where you think the leak is.

I had a 1993 Camry SE V6 that seemed to have an exhaust leak from the front pipe to the cat.
I changed the gasket but the noise was still there. I had a friend block the exhaust while it was running, and could find no leaks. I think it might have just been the exhaust note that it had with the aftermarket muffler .

Have you checked where all the pipes are joined? Mine were basically disintegrated. Had them removed and the pipes all welded and haven't had a problem since.

Mine has an exhaust leak now right at the joint where the back of the muffler meets the pipe going up to the front of the car. When you look under the car for the leak make sure to check all the joints as well.
