Offer Of A Lifetime!!! Need Opinions Fast For This Weekend!!!
Ok, so I know I'll probably get beat by some of you guys cuz I know there are other posts about some of the stuff I'm going to ask, but I'm really short on time and not that knowledgable when it comes to modifying cars. I don't even really need that much info if just a few peeps give some detailed info. I need this info by this weekend so I can hand my car over to the shop.
So....I have been offered to get my 92 Automatic V6 3VZFE with 147,000mi Camry modified any way I want. And by any way I mean ANY...WAY!!!!! Money is not really a problem. My main concern are the performance aspects of the car. Should I get a turbo? Twin turbo?? Supercharger??? What would work best with my car? I also need to get my exhaust completely redone as well. What would be the best set up for an exhaust with a turbo or S/C? I DEFINATELY DON'T WANT IT TO SOUND RICER AT ALL. Just something deep and aggressive and I would like to hear as least of it as possible inside the car.
Now I would just like to know what the 3vzfe is capable of. 300hp? 500hp?? I don't want anything too crazy as far as the turbo or S/C goes and I don't want to strain the engine or anything else too much. I just want something reliable that won't give me too many or any problems at all. I shooting for 250hp to 300 hp, but if I can get more without giving up too much reliability then I'll go for it. Also, should I swap the Automatic for a manual transmission? Will the manual trans. be better for a turbo or S/C or will the auto trans. be just fine with the added power?
I would also like to see what some of your guys' setups are like for those of you who DO have turbos or S/C as far as CAI's, Y pipes, exhaust, headers, handling, etc.
To sum it all up: What would YOU do if you could mod the performance aspects of your Camry any way you wanted without really beating up on the engine? This can include the engine and handling as well.
Thank you guys so much for your help! It really means a lot!

so let me get this straight...someone has offered to mod you car ANY way...with no budget? smells fishy. but id do coilovers, turbo, and 5 speed swap. as far as other stuff, a full exhuast with headers y pipe and big freekin piping. the motor can hold 4000hp if ya put enough money into it but reliable is about 250 id say.
there has to be a buget or somthing tied to this and what shop is this??? ill take my car there now.
forged internals, single turbo, injectors, fuel pump, engine management, badass bov, 18lbs. of boost, 5-speed swap, body kit, tinted windows, lowering springs, wheels, grippy tires, aem eugo, aem tru-boost controoler gauge. on top of the 10k in labor alone , thousand dollars of dyno-tuning that you'll pay. so it should be about 17-19k altogether. you could do it for less than 6k if you did yourself. better show some pics when its done.

Bigbird, Did you mean 400hp instead of 4,000hp? As far as the shop goes, I'm gonna keep that hush hush until its all finished. Let's just say I know people who know people...and all those people will be getting BJ's from me until the day I die!!! Oh man that was too much!!! Couldn't help myself!!! No homo!!!
Alright thanks very much for all your guys' input! Now let's get a little more specific as far as parts go. Meaning I need some brands and models of parts to give this person. What kind of turbo (brand and model) should I get keeping it under 400hp as Bigbird said? And with coilovers you can adjust the height of the car anytime you want correct?
And what are these things: forged internals, fuel pump, engine management, aem eugo, aem tru-boost controoler gauge???
And will a 5spd swap be better for a turbo than an automatic? Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

coilovers - yes, must, get them.
these things - nicissary components for a big turbo build
5 speed swap - e153 with LSD and upgraded clutch A MUST
400hp - no i ment 4000. when an unlimited budget you could fly the damn thing.
and how you gonna keep this from your MD brothas...thats just cold. though if they ever want a real project...send em my way.
and you need to search...search your heart out. there is more info in past threads then any of us could type in a single thread.
Tell em to rebuild the drive train into RWD, otherwise it's useless to put down power in the engine.
300 HP is more than enough to drag you to 60 under sub 5, single turbo is capable of that.
Can't decide between stick and auto? Swapping in a sequential gearbox from Lexus IS.
If u dont have moonroof, auto leather seats and ABS (optional on LE model) swap them all in.
Lower the car, magna exaust, body kits, rim size, paint job, custom headlight .... up to ur choice.
how much you want for it samurai :P
PM with price if you really want to get rid of it, i probabbly wont keep up with this thread too much longer unless someone goes into details about parts list w/part numbers and how to get ahold of them :P

you have been PM'ed.
on the token- wouldn't the so called shop thats doing this ("wink-wink!"), customize and choose specific parts foryour build, since they would b very picky about what they install? I'mean they would would go with they know. which is a good thing. I mean... I wouldn't do things foreign to me unless it was a badass brunette from Italy.CHIKA-BOOOWWWW!( I've been drinking).
I think this is complete DooKy in the face unless you follow through. Don't worry I'll hold it to you for the rest of your Life

Dude...You should be banished from performance related threads on name alone.

Oh I'm sure they will choose specific parts for my car. I just want to know what other people have done with their 3vzfe's as far as turbos or S/C go that's all. I'm sure they won't just hack together some shit job and hand it over to me.
And screw that brunette from Italy....give me a badass brunette from Greece!!! Or Brazil!!! That's the good stuff!!!
Oh and just for the record I AM reading up on other posts on this topic. I just want to get in as many responses as possible and ask MY specific questions and get as much info as possible by this weekend.
Thanks for putting up with me guys!
