3rd Generation Radio compatibility

Hi, all you Toy-heads!

I have a Toyota Model # 86120-33100, faceplate # 56804 that I'm interested in replacing with another Toyota CD cassette radio (or an aftermarket that looks right in that space, but I prefer the Toyota models).

Any suggestions? I believe that the -33100 has a double-din hook up, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

Depends what features you want and what's available to you.I'm not sure if they'd match up exactly, but no reason it shouldn't work with whatever route you decide to go. Easiest way is go to a local toyota dealership, and if you know what year/model the radio is, get a print out of the wiring. Once you have that, you'll know what is what on the radio. Now do the same for your camry.
If they are the same plug and wiring you're golden, if not, get an adapter for an aftermarket radio and then hardwire it to the radio plug you're putting in and you should be good to go as long as it fits into dash.
Would suggest if you're going to do it, get one that plays CD's and cassette tapes. Then you're good with both.

Just go to www.crutchfield.com . Assuming you have a double-din radio now, you'll end up with a single din aftermarket with a new pocket (storage compartment) under it. It'll look fine.

Be sure to look for a radio that has a USB port, with that you can load up a flash drive with .mp3's and plug it directly into the radio.

As long as you don't have JBL factory sound, your good to go all the way up to 01/02 toyota radios. The newer radios would work up to 06 but the faceplate is too big. They used the same wiring scheme for quite a while and just recently replaced it in 07.
