Did something hit your car or break off your car?

Remove the tire and take a look at the brakes. If you don't know what you are looking for compare with the other side.

check your brakes! on other forums every so often i hear of people either losing or shearing a bolt that connects the caliper to the mounting bracket. a broken, loose or missing missing bolt an cause a serious accident.

From what you've said, something is seriously wrong. In addition to what the folks have suggested, it could be that one of your brake pads has failed, with the friction material separating from the steel backing plate. I had that happen to my Camry a long while ago.

Don't mess around, get it checked out quickly!

Sounds like you lost a brake pad on the left side. And that is a bad thing. The reason your car pulls to the right is because the left side is doing nothing, all the stopping power is on the right side.

This happened to me once, when the pads get too worn, they can actually fall out.........get it fixed NOW. You can probably nurse it to a shop as long as you don't exceed 35 mph, definitely do not travel at freeway speeds.

Oh my goodness. My breaks are squeaking and I am concerned about that. I wonder how much will it cost to fix them.

Brakes that just start to squeal, generally aren't too much to worry about. Usually it's just the wear tab doing it's job, letting the owner know the brakes are almost in need of replacement. By the time the brake pads fall out, some serious neglect has taken place.
