tricking ecu

I have a 92 camry with a 3vz. recently I did a 5spd swap. Well I'm thinking that the ait fuel ratio isn't what it should be since my performce aren't that great. I don't have money for a diff ecu. So does anybody know how to trick the auto ecu into thinking its a manual?

Um, $100 for an ECU is too much, yet you spent the $ on a 5-speed swap?

If an auto ECU and a manual trans you must be getting a flashing O/D light.

You can install devices the simulate the shift solenoids.

Well college is right around the corner, and I'm stugling to pay for my classes...........

Toyot:Yes, I'm getting the O/D flashing. Are you talking about the circuit box thats on Jon's page? Is there a way where I can just coneect two wires together and make the ecu thinks it in drive all the time?

you shouldntve done the 5spd swap if you cant afford to do it right ... save up and you should be able to afford the manual ECU in little to no time

im a college student, i know how expensive it is - i probably go to one of the most expensive colleges in the country, unfortunately ... but saving money can save you a lot of problems down the road

Ratko had posted up about the 5Spd swap. IIRC you can fool the shift solenoid with like a resistor or something.

Ok the did that resistor box but with a 10 ohm 25w resistor. It works, but only for bout 10 min of driving then the od light flashes again. Anybody know why?

well I did the swap without the ecu b/c someone told me that I didn't need the manual, but I'm having doubts now. I will get the manual eventually though.
