What is this clicking noise!!

I have provided a video so you can hear the noise im talking about. Its mostly on cold starts, on the passenger side. I have heard this same clicking noise in other 4 cylinder camrys. Its real hard to pinpoint where exactly its coming from. The clicking noise sounds like a fan hitting a plastic shroud, but I can guarantee its not. Someone said timing belt, but the Toyota camry dealer told me, that if they timing belt was that loose, I would have major issues, and that they didnt think thats what it was.

PLEASE HELP!

It doesnt really sound like its coming from underneath the car. I pop the hood and I know its coming from the passenger side of the engine. I did video the engine but with belts and fan, you could not hear the clicking well through the camera.

Have you ever had the valve clearance checked? My 95 4-cylinder Camry sounded like a sewing machine; I adjusted the valve shims and it helped a little.

It's your car's biological clock ticking. You should trade it off before it croaks or wants a divorce!

The sound goes away after a little while. I figured this was common, because I have heard this in other GEN4 camry's before.

Yea, My mom's Gen4.5 makes the same sound when it is cold. Your running the 5SFE yea? The noise is normally only when it is a cold start and makes that noise (on my mom's car) for about 3~10 seconds until the oil gets through the engine.

4th Generation

When you give it a little gas, does the clicking sound goes away? I did my timing belt and water pump (gen 4) a few years back and after putting back everything, it gave a clicking/slapping noise. It turns out that timing belt was slightly hitting the plastic cover. Probably just need to turn some cogs a 1/8 turn with the belt on.
