Clear antifreeze?

While cleaning out my dad's cabinet, I found this old bottle of Prestone coolant. I showed it to my dad, and he told me he bought it years ago, and never needed it. I popped it open, and the stuff is clear. I have no idea what it originally looked like, but the picture on the bottle shows it being green.

I checked on prestone's site and they say their coolant lasts for "many years", so I'm wondering if it's still good to use, or if there's anyway to use it? I have no idea what color it's supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be clear.

He probably used it and then filled it with water at one point and forgot he did that....unless of course you are referring to a bottle that was still SEALED, then I dont know.

I have some prestone and it is a pale straw colour, (like light yellow piss).

did you actually pour some out of the jug? if you're just looking at it inside the jug, it'll look like its clear

If it is actually clear and you don't really know how old the antifreeze actually is, it isn't worth the risk of using it to save $10, IMHO.

Good call. I went ahead and tried to pour some out, and it came out green! It looks completely clear inside the (yellow) bottle though.
