What price do you guys think?

Hey, Im looking at buying a 1993 toyota camry v6 automatic, 180000km. The problem with the car is that its got a blown head gasket, rust spots around all the doors (just a couple like the size of penny around the trim of each door), the paint is pretty much done, the passenger side and trunk lid rear lights the whole thing needs to be replaced, the tint is bubbling on all windows, the leather is pretty worn, its been sitting for 5 years but it doesnt look like theres rust under the car the only thing is that the tires might have dry rought and alot of the engine parts are slightly corroded. This lady wants 2500, and I was thinking more like $500 (junkyards will only give me $200) and the only engine I could find is $700 if once I tear it down and I find more problems I would swap it out, so I was just wondering if I was right in offering this.

I agree about the 500. If the car has been sitting their for a while odds are the brake rotors are rusted as well. Also the fuel lines might be gunked up.

it should be about $500 if that. blown head gasket, sitting for 5 years, 15 years old, 180k Km...
there is a mint condition (i mean, the car looked brand new when i drove past) 1993 camry not too far away from my house selling for $3200, but i dont know the mileage.

someone recently sold a gen 3 in my neighborhood for 2600. roughly the same mileage, good paint, new water pump and timing belt, ran great. so 2500 is way too much.

2500 is a ridiculous amount for a car in that condition... I say 700 at most

The mileage and her asking price sounds about right, but under these circumstances of the car being in such bad shape she is asking way too much. Chances are though that if she is asking for $2,500 that she will not take much under $2,000 unless she is desperate. She probably went on KBB and saw that it was worth $2,500 in good condition without realizing they usually don't give a price for vehicles that are in very poor shape.
