3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Looking threw the search couldn't find anything. Also I'm not the brightest thing in terms of mechanics but I don't see where any of them are not like my V4 '97 Corolla where there right there and done. If there's not one here link me a site and I'll make one for us.
just trace the plug wires. they run to coil packs so the plugs are under thoes. the front bank is easy to do but the rear bank requiers the removal of the intake manifold.

Removal of the intake is not necessary.
It is tight but can be done without removing the manifold. We did them all the time this way at the dealer I used to work at. Camry is easy, Sienna is more difficult.
Anyway, start by removing the pcv valve and hose from the rear valve cover.
Next disconnect the the plug wires from the front 3 coils. Remove the 3 10 mm bolts on the front 3 coils. and pull out all 3 of the rear plug wires out of the way. (This can be accomplished by "hugging" the intake) The middle wire on the rear bank can be a little tricky to get out as it will hit the intake plenum if you pull straight out.
The trick is to pull straight to loosen it from the plug, then try to tilt it tward the driver's side and it will just clear the plenum with a little finesse.
from here you want a DEEP spark plug socket (Available from most tool guys, I got mine from snap-on, here is the link to see it http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog)
A 1" extension, and a stubby 3/8" ratchet.
Remove the plugs, this is a little challanging due to the limited space but not impossible.
(My first time with a sienna took me 30 minutes)
Drop in the new plugs, tighten hand tight, and go 1/4-1/2 a turn more.
Reassemble, and DON'T forget the PCV Valve and hose.
What brand Automatic Transmission Toyota Dealer use or you would recommend that work best for Toyota Camry?
I did flush my Automatic Transmission at 129k miles, and I did not removed the filter to clean. Now, at 135k. I want to spend time on this weekend to flush out again to minimize the dirty old transmission still inside.
What brand does Toyota Dealer use or you know good brand ATF for
1996 Toyota Camry 4 Cylinder 5SFE engine?
I am planning to get Right strut replace..Either I go OEM Toyota parts, but they want 170 bucks... I heard other brands that is close to OEM Toyota part front right strut..
Justin, do you know what brand of strut Toyota used? Or you recommend go with OEM Toyota part? Also, I want to know do I need to buy or replace any extra since I buy the right front strut. Or I can use the old parts that come with the Front Right strut? I heard it's better to replace something inside while you're there or you'll heard squeeze noise on the road... HELP ME OUT>>> I want soft drive not rough drive..so if any strut I want to buy...Soft drive has to be....
I appreciate any suggestion.... What brand to go? If I go aftermarket strut part, do I have to buy everything... I am not sure... I would like to keep close to OEM parts as possible.

Yes, a normal socket won't fit, but a normal spark plug socket will. These guys are talking about a plug socket thats about 6 or 8 inches deep. I don't see why that's required.

ah...
and no...that would not be required...and if they actually got a socket that long, it won't fit under the plenum and into the sparkplug tubes
