looks bad grilleless - just shows the ugly horn and radiator

get a grille and clear it with a non-chrome mesh thats not too fine

for you that did this... any problems with sagging, i forgot to buy the styrofoam support so im hopping that will take care of the one issue i have, but since i had to take off the four clip in mounts (2 in grill area, 1 on each side under corner lights) im a little worried about sagging even after i get it the support put in...

I'd say go with mesh for the grille. Looks quite nice though

I think the stock grill would look better then a mesh grill on a gen 4. Have you checked if your gen 4 grill will fit in the gen 4.5 bumper?

got sick of the dyin fish look, had some leftover gutter mesh from making a lower grill on our hhr so i test fit, trimmed and viola... if you looks close im sure youll see its hel on by 2 zip ties at the bottom, and im sure you can see up under the edge of the hood where we split a piece of tubing to protect hands when opening the hood... and im sure ill get boos and hisses for using gutter mesh, but i think it looks great, and since my nose doesnt taper in at the bottom like the gen 4 did it already look like an aftermarket nose, anyways here some pics

oh and i know most wont care and i hope the rest dont mind but here is the new rims the wife picked out for her hhr, 17x7 mb seven x chrome with 245/45 cooper zeons 800 bucks even
