If you use brake fluid, kerosene or any other solvent to clean a pan; you should then clean that solvent out with ATF before reinstalling the pan.

Residue from solvents is harmful to auto transmission governor body assemblies and clutch packs.

i use brake cleaner. leaves everything clean and oil-free.
