How to get the VSV ???

I'm attempting to fix my P0401 code by replacing my VSV. I cleaned my egr and my egr modulator to no avail.

From my research, it seems as if the VSV is beneath the second intake manifold runner on the passenger side. I can't even see it or feel it from the top of the engine. I dont have long arms or much of a reach anyway. How have you guys gotten to this? Take off the front wheel? Jacked it up? I really don't want to do this as I dont have any jackstands or ramps.

Any additional advise would e appreciated.

i just fixed this code (well hopefully at least) but the vsv is under the engine cover and is brown and looks like an inhaler. I also cleaned my egr and modulator and replaced the vsv but the code still reappeared. I would check vacuum to see what piece is really giving you problems. It turned out for me that it was the modulator and I had to change that. I'll try to snap a picture of the vsv if I get a chance.
