92 v6 engine questions
Just curious as I'm still getting familiar with the camry's engine.
From what I know, the engine has been changed out at some point. When and actual mileage don't know, but probably a safe bet its' a lot less than on the speedo.
Anyways, there's a couple anomalies that I am curious about. Firstly, on the left side of the plenum [facing it from the front] there's the gas line, and two other 'lines'. The top one that's further back is capped, and the line is on the lower one. What are these lines/connectors for? Mine are actually reversed. What difference will this make?
Secondly, I noticed that I was missing a belt safety protector [for lack of calling it anything else] that goes over top of the belt as it goes over the alternator pulley. Picked it up, but on further inspection, I found that there's another piece towards the front where this piece attaches, and on it is another pulley that pushes on the backside of the belt as it comes down from the alternator. This piece I don't have what-so-ever. What is the function of this? Is it just some kinda of tensioner or such? and how important is it to have on? [haven't had any issues as of yet though not having it]
TIA
