Will Fuel Mixture mod / Air filter affect emmissions test?

Hi everyone,

I need to do an emissions test on my Camry as required by Ontario Law.

I have a Cone filter on the car and the car is running lean. I used the AFM mod to lean it back about 5 clicks.

Would this lean condition + air filter show an increased readings in emissions? The AFM is an easy reset to OEM. But I am too lazy to put back the original filter, and I cant find my airbox.

Thanks!

If you got emission tests your better off returning your car to stock. Running lean will mess up your emissions. Also idk how it is in canada but in cali, they do a visual check. So your better off returning the intake to stock, that way they dont ask any questions.

Thanks!

They arent required to do a visual check but they do check for obvious problems. They check the fuel cap to see if it holds pressure. Then the actual test which goes like this.

1. Car driven onto a dyno and strapped down
2. sensors inserted into the tail pipe and into the engine bay
3. emissions tested at idle (curb idle)
4. car is driven to 40 km/h and held at that speed.
5. Car emissions are testing while holding that speed

Then they tell you if u pass/fail. Its way relaxed than the tests I've heard about in Cali.

Leaning out the A/F may increase your NOx levels, although your HC's should be down.
