Putting overdrive cover back on?

tranny = A140E.... the O/D cover isn't wanting to fit back on correctly i'v spun the gears over a million times to see if they needed to be lined up a certain way just can't get it

Turn the gear clockwise to install into the case.

With the gear drive shaft up and case cover down the distance between the top of the overdrive gear face and case flange should be about 0.94 inch.

I Put the band in



then I put the gears in and goto put the o/d case over them and there is just too big of a gap.. or are you suppose to put the gears in with the o/d cover

Put gears into cover when turning CW.

Check the distance shown between arrows in your photo, should be about 0.94 inch.
