radio troubles.... AGAIN!

ok so last time i made a post about my radio i was told that my best option was to get a new head unit...so i did...and i dropped it in and it worked beautifully...for about 5 minutes...then it went bck to boring old deadness...and everytime i pop the faceplate on and hope to god that itll work, it doesnt...my head unit is new and my speakers arent blown...what in the hell is my problem??

Try unplugging the harness behind the deck first. Wait 1 min and plug it back in. If your deck turns back on but for about 5 mins before shutting off, I think its wiring problems. If you connected the orange or white w/orange strip (I think) wire from the harness to the dimmer, sometimes this happens. Once you remove it try again.

If none of that works, try checking the fuse. Or use a voltmeter and check the cars radio harness and see if you are getting a short somewhere.

BLUE IS NOT CONSTANT POWER!!!! its the accessory wire. only use it if you have a power antenna or an amplifier. otherwise, it should not be connected to anything

Then I suggest you run a ohm meter to the speaker wires from the radio harness and on the speakers. Also check the polarity of the speaker connection.
