Radio Help!!

Probably about 6 months ago while I was driving my 96 camry, my radio and clock both just shut off and neither have worked since . I have checked the fuses and wiring and I have found nothing wrong. But when I looked at the fuses under the hood there is a spot labeled for the radio but there was nothing there. And I tried putting a fuse in the spot and it doesn't want to sit in there correctly and the radio still will not work. Could it be possible that the radio itself just sh*t the bed? I appreciate the help, I just can't stand driving without a radio anymore.

Since both the clock and the radio stopped working, I would still suspect a fuse or a wiring problem. Check the owners manual for all fuses connected to the radio and the clock and check them with either a 12 volt test light or a digital volt/ohmeter.

Does anyone know where I can download the manual on the internet? The previous owner had lost the manual for it

My radio, clock and cabin light went out and I found that it was the Yellow 20 fuse in the big fuse box by the air filter.

Exact same thing happened to me today. Tried to use the cigarette lighter plug and found it was a bit loose in the mount so gave it a wiggle and the radio cut off and the clock is now dead.

So I'll have a look at it tommorrow and report a fix, that is if I can fix it.

Cig lighter and clock are on the same Cig fuse.

Clock also is powered by the Dome fuse.

Depending on the year of car the radio may be powered by the Dome and Cig/Radio fuses or the Radio 1 and Radio 2 fuses.

Could be a short in the lighter resulting in the Cig fuse blowing and loss of radio, clock and lighter power.

Yeah, it was an easy fix. It just blew the 15 fuse. A quick replace and it works sweet.

Just have to remember not to use the cig ltr from now on

U made me remember when I was installing the neon under the dash. I made a spark and everything got blacked out, couldn't even start the car. Lucky that afterward only the radio light burn out, I will install the pioneer gps soon anyways ...

I agree that it sounds like a dead fuse somewhere.
