Oil pressure guage help needed.

Trying to finish up a few things, especially with winter around the corner, one of which completing my aftermarket gauges. [I have a real issue with idiot lights instead of real time gauges] Since I had them kicking around, I put them in. The only one I have left to complete is the oil pressure gauge.

I thought it would be a simple matter of just hooking it up to the oil pressure sender near the oil filter [I have the V6 3VZ–FE engine] but now I'm reading that it's an oil pressure switch? So now I'm not sure. I need to attach the sending wire so the gauge works, but now what do I attach it too? What will happen if it's attach to the oil pressure switch? Is there a wire I just need to tap into to? or do I have to now attach a sensor along with the oil pressure switch using the same place? and will they happily reside together or cause issues if this is the way to go?

The switch is for the light, it just goes on or off. You can always use a tee fitting for both if there is enough room for it. Or if you don't need the light on the dash, just switch it over.

N.E.O.

Well picked up the fittings needed today. Now to find where to get the socket to remove the oil pressure switch.
