3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have fabric manual seat came stock with the LE model. The leather seat cover doesn't work for me, so I'm planning to find my luck in the junk jard for a set of black leather seat, so I have a few questions:
Does gen 3 have mannual leather seat ?
If not, Is it possible to swap the power seat into my car ?
Is there any other model that would work as well ? avalon ? lexus es ?
ES seats are a direct swap (ALL are power), many Camry leather seats are power, (All XLE's driver side, some pass side). All you need to so it run the power wire like anything else.

done it and it just needs power. I would recomend just running it straight to the battery instead of a switched circuit since its nice to have the seats moveable without the car on. i can get you the wire color codes if you like.
Gen 3's had leather as a option but only tan and wineberry burgandy gray as choices. For that reason, there may be a power receptical or wiring located under your carpet that wasnt needed for your car, so you dont have to runs a new circuit.

Hmm..The leather in my gen 3 is dark blue almost black. Must be from a diff year.
no there was no wiring in mine. I checked there is no carpet in the car currently, but a bit of wire and a straight connection to the battery is all you need.

The driver's seat in my XLE moves without the car on OR the key in the ignition.

Unfortunately I checked the under need font seats and saw no circuit or any thing ... I have no idea how it looks like with the XLE u guys have, do I have to dig up the floor carpet for wiring ??? I will check out the price tomorrow though.
Unless you had factory P/seats, you don;t have the wiring. You may be able to grab the entire harness from that side of a car and swap it.
The Lexus seats are almost the same as the Camry (design). They bolt on, same damn way as the Camry. The rear seat backs confuse me, but several have swapped it on here. they do not fold (due to the ES having a support brace), but the armrest folds to allow a small passthrough.
I've seen OEM leather on a DX, and they NEVER had a power seat. I;ve seen MANY leather seats here on LE's.
Leather came in every color that the fabric did. I've seen Tan, Blue, Grey, Purple, and Black on the ES (Even seen early ES's with black fabric).

Thank you for all input so far, especially ASG. I checked many places and they all told me the same thing that the black color that i want is damn rare ... As ASG mentioned the DX have mannual leather seat which is really interested to me, but at this point in time, I dont feel lucky enough to find one...
I however found those "as real as it can get" leather cover on ebay, I recognized 2 of those pictures are taken from a gen 3, they looks slick.
