hydraulic fan to power steering pump hose - advice?

My 93 Camry V6 is leaking lots of fluid from the hose from the power steering pump to the hydraulic fan. I am planning on changing it, but it looks like it may be a real pain to get the old one out/get a new one in. Does anyone have advice on how to make it easier? For example, can you do it without taking the air intake hose and intake plenum off? I have no problems doing this, but the less I have to take apart the better. Also, any tips on getting the end at the power steering pump disconnected? It looks like access is terrible with the front wheel off, but it looks even worse from underneath because the steering rack and frame are in the way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because I can tell this is one of those jobs that lessons learned from experience will minimize large amounts of aggravation. Thanks for the help.

where is it leaking?

if it's leaking from around the pump area, then the only real access is from the wheel well....and yes, it's a bitch. I dealt with all the problems before that I had while I had the engine out of the car. When it came to fixing a bit of a problem that I had with the engine in, I took it to my mechanic.

It looks like it is leaking from above the power steering pump - but isn't it one long hose all the way from the pump to the hydraulic fan? Or am I not seeing a joint where the hose is connected somewhere in the middle?

I *think* it's one hose....but I'm not too sure, because it becomes attached to the block when it goes around the engine....and then comes out as a banjo fitting to the fan....so it *may* be separate pieces...but I'm not sure...

but regardless, if it's leaking right at the pump, it's going to be one helluva job....

The dealer service guy told me it would be $150 for the hose (sounds like it is one piece) and about $300 for labor (about 3 hours). He said the tech told him it is a pain to do this job, but the service guy said he didnt know what they take off to do it. Anybody else with experience on DIY or cost to have someone do it at an independent shop?
