Yes this is possible. Actually my uncle has the same deck in his Celica.

The install is VERY EASY, the hardest part is the wiring.

Be sure to the electrical the right way, Brading the connections, Soldering them, and covering them with heat shrink tubing. Don't use the cheesy crimp connectors, or God forbid twisting the wire and covering with electrical tape. (This is just asking for problems)
Also you want to purchase a vehicle harness to do the install. (Available at any store that sells decks, Best Buy, Circuit City, ETC)
DO NOT CUT THE FACTORY HARNESS !!!!!!!!
I can't stress this enough.

Other tips: If this is the first time the factory radio has been out of the car, make sure to use a 10MM and a 8 MM Socket, Not a phillips screwdriver as the factory torques the bolts down hard.
If you use a phillips screwdriver the heads will strip out.

Here is a step by step guide for the install:

The link for the 1999-2001 is exactly the same install.

Here is a link to a harness:

probably need an aftermarket 'pocket' to go where your cd player is located, and it looks like the screen would block the 2 middle vents but it looks to fit fine. if you find it at a local place like best buy etc they do installs so cheap these days that if youre worried about messing something up its cheap insurance....

Yea, I'm thinking that I'm just gonna call Best Buy and see what they want to install. I just don't know how much their going to want?

Up here Circuit City does free installs, if you buy the deck there.

Also, did you see the detailed install PDF link I posted ?

Here is a link to this years model from Circuit City, but it is $500.00
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Jense...oductDetail.do

So you may be better off doing the install yourself and saving the $250.00

Many of these shops wont touch the install unless you purchased the unit from them.

Your best bet is to call around and see if they will do the install.
If not you may be able to have it installed at a local audio, or alarm shop for 100 bucks.

Yea, thats kind of a lot. I did see your link. Thats a really good write up. To be honest though, I think I'm gonna see if I can have someone do it for me.

Now lets say I didn't want to go the flip screen route. What would a easy to install myself snap right in head unit be?
