3rd Generation Bad HID Bulb or Ballast?

Recently I noticed one of my 8000K HIDs has changed color, its not as bright as the other anymore. Its more purple than white as it used to be. I am wondering, anyone here have HIDs for over 2 years and have a bulb or ballast go on you? Im wondering which one it is, as its sorta expensive...This doesnt effect my sale on the car btw...haha..regular bulbs work fine ^_~

HID bulbs should change color as it ages... that's why you see really old Mercs with purple headlights even though they're stock bulbs. It's called colorshifting. That only one of your bulbs is shifting is an indication of poor quality, which is pretty typical of 3rd party bulbs. Just get a replacement bulb.

I was leaning towards the bulb...as I think if it was a ballast, it wouldnt work at all....cuz when they fail, they fail...off..
