Replace water pump & timing belt on 1998 Camry

My 1998 4 cyl. Camry was low on coolant and the mechanic says the water pump is leaking from the weap hole. He suggested that I replace the water pump and timing belt ASAP. Should I have the mechanic replace anything else at the same time? My car only has 85,000 miles on it but I am planning on selling it after Christmas. I don't want to replace anything that is not necessary since I won't own this car for much longer.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Changing the timing belt and water pump makes sense. If you were going to keep the car you might want to consider thoroughly checking the seals and oil pump but as it is go, with what your mechanic suggests. There may be a tension pulley/spring that may need to be replaced for the timing belt.

If there is oil in the compartment you have a descision to make. It's not good for the timing belt but you may be able to postpone it until you sell it. However, sell it sooner rather than later.
