I got hit like that too. I was sleeping the whole time. Cop called it something else since I was not in the car. Ding and ditch or something like that. My damage will be somewhere between 1500-3000. Does this classify as a collision or comprehensive?

I believe most insurance called this coverage uninsured motorist.... It applies when there is a hit and run/ when the other party doesn't have insurance and there shouldn't be a deductible.

Did your insurance provide require a police report?

It will be taken care of under the collision portion of your policy and the deductible will apply if you have one. It is not an at-fault accident so there will be no surcharge to your policy. How do I know this? Got my car fixed back in July for a hit and run

Good luck man! It sucks but at least your car will get fixed.
