3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm really thinking about fabricating the stock headlights with ellipsoids, but the stock lenses are not clear like id like them to be... BTW I have a 1996 Camry LE(Collectors Edition). I would love to keep the stock look of the headlight but also get the output with the ellipsoids and xenon bulbs. Is there any website that have clear lenses for my car? Has anyone else come up with anything like what I'm thinking of?Pics?
there are a couple people who have actually done projector retrofits in the 3.5 housings and left the lenses stock. it actually looks pretty cool and the lense doesnt do much to effect spread. id either see if you can get in touch with gregcheban or jsut sand them and polish them yourself.
as long as you use HIDs, the stock frosted lenses barely disperse any light at all
Alright thats good... Does anyone have a DIY for it... I wanna try to keep the inside of the headlight as stock as possible but with "Projectors" and hids.

Use search, their are quite a few guides. Also google "projector retrofit" or something like that.
Just be prepared, if this is your first time making projectors, make sure you have the whole weekend to make them. And even then, you might be driving a few days without headlights.

Depending on how soon the projectors arrive, I will do a full DIY thread with pics on retro fit for gen 3 / 3.5 this weekend or next week.
That will include instruction of how to removing the lense off housing using hair dryer, and attaching projectors on the housing on the simple basic.
