I just got HIDs (cutoff-line pic included)

So i finally got hids.

Before

After

I love the hids, they r soo bright i dont even need fog lights. Also going with 4300k was a great choice, the more light the better.

And finally i didn allign my projectors correctly. Thats why the cutoff line isnt that clear. I tilted both slightly outward so i get more light on the side of the road; where the street signs are.

Plus their is a chance i aimed my projectors a bit too high. But no one has flashed me soo far, so i think i am all good. Plus my range is sweet.

What's up with the reverse step cutoff above your main cutoff?

The cutoffline isnt perfectly flat.

http://www.newcougar.org/forums/vide...ar-my-car.html

Thats what it would look like if the projectors were aimed correctly. If you look closely, you will see that the cutoffline makes a curve shape, its also obvious on the right half of the line.

Also I've looked up on the differences between HID and Halogen projectors. From what i have learned, halogen projectors focus the light on a point right at the middle of the cutoffline and around that point outward it gets less bright. HID projectors make the light even all around.

I dont think this car is any more blinding then a clk or slk. If anyone wants to drive opposite of me and tell me if i am blinding them, your more then welcome.

BTW my camera is sitty and i cant get a clear pic.

as said, not bad for halogen projectors

they're still worlds better than sticking hids into the stock reflectors, and looks a helluva lot better too, kudos to you next project, make a set of d2s projector headlights, right?

even after I got into my accident, one of the first and foremost things in my mind was to make another set of projector headlights....I really just can't live without them now

No, next project is to get a sc300 5spd. Get Supra seats, so i fit comfortably in the car. Then get LS400 brake calipers n rotors plus IS 18in rims (so the calipers fit) or 17in if they fit over the bigger calipers. And off course paint the calipers bright red.

Idk what i will do with HIDs on the sc. From my results right now with halogen projectors, I really dont think HID projectors are worth retrofiting into a car that already has projectors. I saw a sc300 with 6000k hids on PCH last night. It didnt really blind me.

BTW anyone wanting HIDs get 4300k over 6000k. 6000k is way too blue. When i saw that sc on the road with 6000k. I knew i made the right choice getting 4300k.

well, that's a matter of opinion on the K's...I prefer 6000K over 4300K, I've ran both and the 4300 just look...too stock

as for the sc300...good choice...but you have your priorities mixed up...it's called get sc300 5-speed and then boost haha

No I don't mean the curvy-ness of your main cutoff. That I get. I'm talking about the second cutoff you have from the stray light. Is that the top of a wall or something? I can't tell from the pics.

Oh sorry. ya thats a wall. BTW I am NOT on leval ground. My car's front end is pointing upward.

I hate C.A.R.B. and emission tests. Anything I do to the sc under the hood needs to be street legal or reversable. Cuz I dont have any connections that will pass my smog check for me.

The best thing to do is get a JDM 2jz-gte and convert it into a USDM version. That'll make the swap legal. Well actually thats the 2nd best thing i can do. First is get supra seats. I asked around Club Lexus and without the seats the car will be kinda unconfy for a person of my height.
