Power Steering Fluid Flush?

I just purchased a 2000 Camry back in January. I recently took it in to a local shop that specializes in Toyotas to get an estimate on new shocks, and they told me they recommend having the power steering fluid flushed and replaced at 70k miles. They said that not having this done may result in some more expensive repairs down the road. The mechanic who told me this seemed pretty honest, but was hoping to get a few second opinions. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Get yourself a turkey baster and remove all the fluid from the reservoir. Then just replace the fluid with good quality and you can repeat the process again anytime you want to replace the remaining fluid...You don't want to disturb the p/s hoses if you don't have to...

There is a DIY here for that. Look in the sticky at the top of this section.

Yes follow the instructions. You can completely flush/change the fluid without worring about getting air in the system.
