'93 LE door sensor troubles.

I've been having door sensor troubles ever since I bought the car (used a couple years ago), but I'm planning on installing an alarm/keyless entry device. I often open the door, and the lights don't come on. I have to tap on the sensor to get it to work. Seems like wiring troubles to me, but I was gonna ask before I go in and try to fix it. Has anyone encountered this problem before? If so what was the fix? Thinkin if i'm lucky it'll only be some soldering, but I'm never that lucky. Switch replacement seems the more likely event.

i have that problem with my rear drivers side door... seems to be another common gen 3 issue. I don't know how to fix it, but i doubt it's wiring... maybe just a little wd-40 or grease or something will do it...

Its the rubber boot on the sensor pin. Its to heavy for the pin to push out. You should be able to fix it by streching the spring a bit or replacing the spring with a heavier spring from home depo.

yeah figured it was that but i thought it mighta just been the age of the switch. hmm maybe i can make myself something, do a custom mod, or just replace the spring like you say. I'll post my solution for everyone else with the problem.

but mine has to be better MUAHAHAHAHAHA, it needs to be so powerful i touch the handle and the door flies open, coming nearly unhinged in the process. Lol j/k, might try that. if i can might just put a space in there. Wish i knew how to do metalwork. I could harden the steel. hmm, think home depot is where I'll end up though. oh forgot to mention before. Thanks :-)
