3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I read numerous forums and did not find many saying that this product works.
I had a hairline crack on the plastic part (upper visible part near cap) of radiator (camry 1994). Put Bars Stop leak in Radiator and voila! No leak anymore. driving since a month and no sign of leak.
I guess its all personal experience and mine was good!
How is this working out for you now... it's been almost 2 months. Have you notice any overheating or heater not working properly or extra noise?
I'm in the same shoe with you (and many others) on the crack on top of radiator. I'm planning to replace it with one that I can order for $85. For now, I'm tempted to try "Alumaseal" or "Bars" temporarily so I don't have to keep filling coolant till my shipment arrives. Just want to get a second opinion from some successful users. Thanks!

Of course it works! My father uses it in his 89 GMC Pickup for more than a year now. If it starts to leak again just put more in. They make them for copper, metal and aluminum radiators.
It didn't fail him yet, and he does not notice any over heating or other problems.
kpszar, did your dad use BARS or ALUMASEAL? after viewing a dozens of links & discussions for both brands, i've heard more positive experiences from ALUMASEAL users than BARS. i guess all of their content & mechanisms are pretty similar after all. i have yet to find any users that have tried both... most just punt and replace the radiator if the first stop leak / sealant doesn't work.

Hi LittleCamryLE,
It's been working great. No problems with car. Never changed the radiator after that. If anything happens I'll update this forum. As you are planning to replace in future, I would say you should try stop leak first.
It's a matter of luck. I have not tried putting it over and over again so cannot say much about that but my logic says that might cause some sort of blockage.

ALUMASEAL, Is the only brand he uses. The package is yellow and the powder is in a gray cylinder. He used it in two different trucks and works great. He does not experience any engine trouble or over heating.
While the car is running pour it in the radiator slowly, so the powder is not in one spot. He only used half on the can for his v8 and probably less in the Camry. He did it after he drove a while, and the next day the same thing.
I hate plastic radiators, when will they learn that heat+plastic=Fail
After patching the crack with "QuikSteel" & "J-B WaterWeld" and pouring half small tube of "Alumaseal" while keeping fluid to the "just full" level within radiator. All leaking has stopped as long as I don't add fluid in expansion tank.
No overheating whatsoever. So far, it's about 2-3 weeks into this process... hope it'll hold up.
Now, that's Camry strong!
